Éileamh: Ceard atá uainn chun na Comharchumainn agus Comhlachtaí Pobail sa Ghaeltacht a shábháil:
  1. Moltar go ndéanfaí éileamh ar Bhord an Rialtais agus Aire Stáit na Gaeltachta, maoiniú breise a chur ar fáil do Chiste na gComharchumann agus comhlachtaí pobalbhunaithe. Do 2017/18, teastaíonn €600,000 breise don chiste seo, €600,000 breise arís 2018/19 agus ansin go mbeadh sé céimnitheach ina dhiaidh sin. 
  2. Tá bunús láidir leis an éileamh de bhrí go mbeidh an Stát ag fáil luach maith ar a chaiteachas agus go mbeidh na heagraíochtaí pobail ábalta feidhmiú mar ba cheart i gcur chun cinn aidhmeanna agus cuspóirí na Roinne and an Rialtais.
  3. Cothrom na féinne: Go mbeadh bunleibhéal an Deontais Reáchtála ar chomhchéim leis na Cláracha CDP.
  4. Go gcuirfí maoiniú breise ar fáil do na comharchumainn is na Comhlachtaí Forbartha Pobail chun an Phleanáil Teanga a chur i bhfeidhm.
  5. Tá sé éagórach gurb é maoiniú €54,000 ar an meán atá ar fail do na comharchumainn & comhlachtaí Pobalbhunaithe sa Ghaeltacht chun beirt nó triúir a fhostú agus an Plean Oibre leathan a bhíonn le cur i bhfeidhm. Agus íoc as gach costas - a bhaineann le hoifig a reáchtáil.
  6. Ciste breise a chur ar fail d’Údarás na Gaeltachta chun scéim fostaíochta a chur ar fail do na Comharchumainn/CPB.
  7. Ciste breise a chur ar fáil do na comharchumainn/ CPB chun cúrsaí agus traenáil a chur ar fáil le deiseanna fostaíochta a chruthú.
Request: What is required to save Gaeltacht Co-op’s and Community Development Companies:
  1. It is proposed that a request is made to the Government and the Minister of State for the Gaeltacht to increase the funding made available to Co-Operatives and Community Development Companies. €600,000 is required for this fund for 2017/18, another €600,000 for 2018/19 and that it would be incremental thereafter.
  2. There is a strong argument for this request as the state will be getting good value for money on its spending and the community organisations will be able to function properly in their quest to carry out the aims and objectives of the Department and the Government.
  3. Level playing field: That the minimum level of Maintenance Grant would be on a par with CDP programmes.
  4. That extra funding is provided to the Co-ops and Community Development Companies to implement Language Planning.
  5. It is a grave injustice that €54,000 is the average funding made available to Co-Operatives and Community Development Companies in the Gaeltacht to hire two or three people to implement the Working Plan. And to pay all the costs of running an office. 
  6. Provide extra funding for Údarás na Gaeltachta to create employment schemes for the Co-ops and Community Development Companies to administer.
  7. Provide extra funding to Co-ops and Community Development Companies for training courses thereby creating employment opportunities.
